Gentle, Empowering, Trauma-Informed
TREM is a supportive group designed for trauma survivors, focusing on safety, trust, and reclaiming personal strength—at your pace, in your voice.
What the Program Is
TREM (Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model) is a structured, trauma-informed group for women and men who have experienced trauma in their lives. Groups are gender-specific, evidence-based, and facilitated by an educated and compassionate team member.
Trauma often lies hidden while substance use remains the focus. Statistics show that 64% of adults in the U.S. with substance use disorders have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. Substance use is often used to cover up or mask trauma, which is why addressing the underlying causes is an important part of long-term recovery.
Developed for those with histories of emotional, physical, or relational trauma, the program focuses on safety, empowerment, and healing—without forcing disclosures or reliving painful memories.
Is This Program Right for You?
Addiction and trauma often go hand in hand. This group may be a good fit if:
- You have experienced trauma and want support without having to “tell your story”
- You want a gender-specific group setting that makes it easier to discuss difficult experiences
- You have felt unsafe or misunderstood in past therapy environments
- You are looking for a structured, respectful, and empowering group format
- You want support in addressing trauma as part of long-term recovery
TREM is not about being “ready to heal”—it is about giving yourself space to begin.
What to Expect
Sessions follow a clear structure with topics including boundaries, trust, emotional regulation, communication, relationships, and power dynamics. You will never be pressured to speak or share personal details—your presence is enough.
TREM is an open group, which means you may join anytime and still gain meaningful skills from the program. Each group is gender-specific, allowing participants to build safety, trust, and connection in a setting that supports honest discussion.
Facilitators are trained in trauma-informed care and prioritize emotional readiness, cultural sensitivity, and consent.
How This Program Helps
TREM teaches participants to understand and process trauma, build resilience, and develop practical skills that support mental health, relationships, recovery, and overall well-being.
- Set and maintain healthy boundaries
- Regulate emotions and reduce anxiety, depression, and PTSD symptoms
- Improve decision-making and judgment
- Develop communication and relationship skills
- Reduce substance use and improve mental health
TREM does not rush the healing process. It provides education, community, and gradual restoration of trust—starting with yourself. Many participants find that TREM helps create a stronger foundation for deeper therapy, healthier relationships, and long-term recovery.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to talk about what happened to me?
No. TREM is specifically designed to avoid triggering retelling. The focus is on healing patterns, building resilience, and developing practical skills.
Is this just for women?
No. TREM is for both women and men who have experienced trauma. Groups are gender-specific, meaning participants attend either an all-women or all-men group, which can make it easier to discuss trauma in a safe and supportive setting.
Is TREM a replacement for individual therapy?
Not necessarily. TREM can be a foundation or supplement to therapy. Many participants begin or deepen therapy after participating in the group.
Can I join midway through?
Yes. TREM is an open group. You may join anytime and still gain valuable skills from the program.
Is this a religious or spiritual program?
No. TREM is secular and trauma-informed, focused on emotional health, recovery, and personal empowerment.
