What Getting Started Looks Like

You do not need a diagnosis or a referral to call us. Here is how the first few weeks usually go.

1. Intake conversation

We talk through what brought you in, your history, insurance, and what you want to be different. Usually about an hour.

2. Your treatment plan

You and your clinician agree on goals, session frequency, and which approaches fit. Nothing is locked in permanently.

3. Ongoing care

Regular sessions, with periodic check-ins to see what is working. We adjust the plan when your needs change.

Common Questions About Mental Health Services

Do I need a referral to start therapy?
No. You can contact us directly to schedule an intake appointment. If another provider referred you, bring their information along so we can coordinate.
Do you accept insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans. Call our office and we will verify your benefits and go over any out-of-pocket costs before your first session.
How do I know which type of therapy is right for me?
That is what the intake is for. Your clinician will recommend an approach based on what you are dealing with, and you can change direction if it is not the right fit.
Can I get mental health care and substance use treatment at the same time?
Yes. Many of our clients are working on both, and treating them together tends to work better than treating them separately. See our substance abuse services for more.
Are sessions in person or virtual?
Both are available for most services. Let us know your preference at intake and we will schedule accordingly.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. Your sessions are protected health information. The limited exceptions, such as an immediate safety risk, are explained in the paperwork you sign at intake.
